May 17, 2005Free Spyware RemoverOkay, okay... now that I've got your attention, it's a free trial (not a completely free product) but I've been using it and I love it. Well, I guess I don't really LOVE this spyware remover... but since I need spyware and adware protection, this is the one I like. Before trying today's recommended product, I was using Spybot Search & Destroy, but I found the user interface confusing, and I wasn't always satisfied with the results. So what did I find that I liked better? Drumroll please: Webroot's Spy Sweeper. Spy Sweeper has won accolades from PC Magazine for two years in a row, and comes highly recommended by Walt Mossberg (of the Wall Street Journal.) Spyware Sweeper is really, really fast (it can scan most systems in minutes) and it can be configured to run continuously so that it will block spyware from ever getting installed. And their frequently updated threat database provides protection from even the newest worms and other nasties. Here's the page where you can download a free Spy Sweeper trial, or run a free online spyware and adware scan of your PC. More Posts Like This One: Online Safety Posted by Barbara J.
